Energy audit 2024: VELO DE VILLE focuses on energy efficiency
Sustainability means not only resource-saving products but also efficient processes. That is why we had a comprehensive energy audit carried out in 2024 in accordance with DIN EN 16247-1:2022 – successfully audited by BAFA-certified energy auditors.
Why an energy audit?
The goal was clear: we wanted to know how efficiently we use energy – particularly in the areas of heating, lighting, compressed air and process technology. To do this, all relevant processes were recorded in detail and analysed in detail.
Thanks to our existing environmental management system certified to ISO 14001, we already had a solid database in the form of energy balances and carbon footprints. These were supplemented by detailed load profile analyses, for example, and energy flows and energy distribution were determined.
Results: Where do we stand?
The analysis shows: VELO DE VILLE is tackling the issue of energy efficiency with great commitment and is already at a high level. Nevertheless, there are always opportunities for optimisation. We were able to implement ten smaller measures immediately – including more efficient lighting control, targeted employee training and optimised control of air conditioning systems, both in the production areas and in the server rooms.
In addition, three larger measures were recommended to us. We are currently carefully weighing these up, as they could not only increase energy efficiency but also have a negative impact on material consumption and waste.
